This class is for anyone ready to commit to a rigorous program to learn web development fast! An expert programmer is there to teach and guide you 9 hours a week in a virtual setting. This program is great for anyone who would like to get their foot in the door of a new career in tech. While no previous programming experience is necessary, our Intro to Web Development course helps prepare students for this rigorous program. All active students are welcome to participate in ArCA’s Career Development program - which includes resume, LinkedIn, and Day in the Life series. This is our longest-running program! Those who have been successful have included individuals with as little as a GED/HS diploma up to a Master's degree. We’ve seen just about every profession including stay-at-home parents, college students, recent high school and college graduates, retail workers, bartenders, CPAs, appraisers, bankers, and more. Most of our graduates from this program have worked full-time while completing this program and we’ve had students from around the state as well as outside of Arkansas.

Participants will gain the essential skills to design, code, and thoroughly test programs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Engaging in practical exercises, they'll create programs mirroring the dynamic elements found in modern web applications, such as headers, buttons, user input, hyperlinks, colors, and images. By the course's end, participants will emerge equipped with the expertise to craft immersive digital experiences that captivate and engage audiences. This course guides beginners into confident SQL users who can write queries, manipulate tables, and store advanced code. The course begins with an introduction to relational databases and the fundamentals of SQL and basic queries. Next, students learn to create tables and views, subqueries, and conversion functions. By the end of the course, students will be importing and exporting data and creating stored procedures. The first 3 weeks will cover the basics and include a lot of hands-on exercises. Class will take a break during week number 4, then resume the following week. Weeks 5-7 will cover intermediate to advanced topics and include additional hands-on practice.

SQL is the language of databases, and databases are central to almost every business – SQL is a standard. Once you know it, you can work on any relational database (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.). SQL is easy to learn, and knowing it makes you a better developer!
